May discounts at Maui Ocean Center
During May, Hawaii residents and military personnel with valid ID will pay a discounted admission of $11.50 for adults (half-off general admission), $5 for ages 3-12, and $10 for ages 65 and up.
Kamaaina and military will also receive a 10 percent discount at Maui Ocean Center Store, and 20 percent at the Seascape Ma'alaea Restaurant and Reef Café.
In addition, all visitors to Maui Ocean Center will receive a coupon to the Seascape Ma'alaea Restaurant, for half-off a second entrée of equal or lesser value. The restaurant is open daily for lunch, and features a trans-fat free menu and serves sustainable seafood, based on the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch Program.
Special rates for film festival-goers
Hilton Waikoloa Village is offering special room rate and package for Big Island Film Festival, taking place Thursday through May 20 at Waikoloa Beach Resort.
For festival goers who want to spend the night, the Hilton is offering a room rate of $189 plus tax per room per night, based on availability Thursday through May 19, 2007. The package code is BIF, and Big Island Film Festival tickets must be presented at check-in.
A Room and Talk Story Pass Package starts at $359 per night (plus tax) for three nights (Thursday through May 19 only) and include passes to the festival. The Talk Story Film Pass includes all festival films and seminars, including "Best of the Fest." Credit card guarantees and 72-hour cancellation required. The package code is FFP.
The film festival celebrates independent narrative films and filmmakers on a 62-acre oceanfront setting.
