Chelsea Toyama performed taiko with intensity yesterday during the Pacific Buddhist Academy's Taiko and Karaoke Festival at McKinley High School. The festival was a celebration for the first graduating senior class of 14 students at the 4-year-old Buddhist high school, which emphasizes peace and teaches concentration, interdependence and teamwork through courses such as taiko drumming.
