Rose Sutrabutra performed a traditional classical Thai dance yesterday at an informal dedication for the pavilion, or sala, at the East-West Center at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The hand-carved, gold-leaf structure replaces the original sala built in 1967 as a gift from King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand. A formal dedication will occur next March, when Thailand's Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will be on an official visit to Hawaii.
