The men of Kaukahi -- Dean Wilhelm, left, Kawika Kahiapo, Barrett Awai and Walt Keale -- talked with Frances Kirk, executive vice president of Outrigger Activities and Entertainment, as they celebrated the release of "Life in These Islands" with a party in the Main Showroom of the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach Hotel on Monday. Jack Johnson, Kimo Kahoano, Nalani Choy, Lehua Kalima Haile, Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom and Chino Montero sat in with the guys as they entertained their guests with songs from their debut album. Jack Johnson bantered with Kaukahi as he sat in as their final guest. Band member Kawika Kahiapo told the crowd that he had no idea who Johnson was when they first met -- and then, when someone told him, couldn't believe that Johnson would let them record in his studio, let alone record a song with them. Eddie Sherman, left, and Elvis Presley were guests of honor when MAC 24-7 celebrated a "Happy Birthday, Elvis!" party on Monday. Sherman signed his new book, "Frank, Sammy, Marlon & Me," which includes a chapter about his encounters with Elvis. Elvis (represented by impressionist Ron Short) entertained tableside for almost two hours (next to them is a photo of Sherman talking with Elvis in 1973). CLICK FOR LARGE

Shawna Masuda celebrated backstage with Jim Brickman, left, and violinist/vocalist David Klinkenberg after performing in Brickman's Blaisdell Concert Hall show Saturday. Brickman entertained the SRO crowd for almost two hours with an assortment of songs spanning his debut, "No Words," to his current release, "Escape." Masuda distinguished herself as an informal comedian as well as a vocalist. CLICK FOR LARGE

Pedro Haro, center, joined Elizabeth "Bit" Harrison, left, CJ Matsushige, Chris Villasenor and Sean Jones at a late-evening dinner party with Shawna Masuda at Compadres after the Jim Brickman concert.
